Legg becomes youngest capped player

Sileby Academy player Will Legg has set a new club record by becoming the youngest First XI capped player in the history of the club.

The all rounder picked up his cap by claiming 5-25 in the County Cup win over Young Muslims Association at Mill Lane on 3 June at the age of 16 years and 255 days.

The previous record was held by Liam Kinch, whose 122 not out vs Ibstock on 1 June 2008 came at the age of 17 years and 29 days while the next closest is Lee Medcroft, whose 6-28, also against Ibstock, came on 3 August 2002 and came at 17 years and 147 days.

Legg will receive cap number 33 at the end of season presentation night on 22 September.
