With the end of the 2017 season now upon us, it’s now awards season and Club Chairman Nigel Kinch has bagged a big one at the Leicestershire OSCAS.
Many would have thought that Kinch would have landed an OSCA for commitment to table dancing at an end of season awards night – but you would be mistaken, although we do suggest that this is introduced as a category for 2018.
Nigel’s association with Sileby Town goes back nearly 40 years, having begun as a player in the early 80s, and has gone on to be Club Captain for more years than he would care to remember, junior age group manager, groundsman, First XI manager and latterly Club Chairman.
He’s seen many highs and plenty of lows in that time but throughout he’s been one of the key members of the club – culminating in his OSCA tonight for being the Heartbeat of the Club.

In typically modest fashion, Kinch responded that the award was for the whole club, not him, but we disagree. It’s a well deserved individual recognition honour. Thank you, Nigel, to the commitment that you’ve given to the club over such a long period of time.
Congratulations, Chief Mongie!
